Yes, he did. He sold it right before I called him. I was so bummed and then he told me about the Daze. I think I made a wise choice.

How do you guys keep your fingerboards so clean ?????

Do you not play them ?????

Mine is a mess until I use Naptha followed by Danish Oil. But the oil darkens the fretboard. So if anyone has a better method for cleaning these maple fingerboards do tell.

i play the crap out of mine. those are my 2 main stage guitars!! i don't know why they aren't that dirty. ummm, sometimes i use #00000 steel wool across the frets before i restring, but i don't make a serious effort to hit the fretboard....hmmm, now i am intrigued. most of my guitars have really clean fretboards. i always wash my hands before i play.....

I play my PC1 every day.
How do I keep the boards clean... I wash my hands before I play them and then I wipe them down before they go back in the case.
Then when I change strings, I clean them with a light lemon oil.
Nothing special really.
Since all but one of my guitars have maple boards, I got used to the routine.
A long time ago I looked at my Ibanez and saw the trashed board and realized I should take better care of them.

Those are really nice. Something about natural wood on a guitar really brings the whole thing out.

I just look at mine. It looks so beautiful . When I get my LTD version, I'm putting it in one of those glass wall cases :ROTF:

I think if you used some straight lemon oil or mineral oil, it would be more neutral in coloration. The danish oil is more of a petroleum product and dissolves and remixes anything left on the finger board. It removes some stuff, but I think it tints too much. Other than that, you could get a full scalloped fingerboard and it would be maintenance free.

I use Fret Doctor. You can find it online. It's made by a guy in PA and mainly used by musicians with wood instruments.
