    ...Jackson Soloist, that is.

Just nabbed Soloist J0762 (completed June 17, 1985) and picked it up today. I was worried that I paid too much, but wow, she's in beautiful shape and almost makes *me* feel 21 again.

Very nice! I love the look of white guitars. No other color seems as able to look so classy & clean as well as being very sleek and kickass, IMHO! Congrats!!!

absolutely a totally killer guitar. my first awakening to San Dimas jacksons, my buddy had one exactly like that one, and i loved the crap out of it...

he ended up selling it for 900 bucks, but man, it was sweet...i always said i'd buy a white soloist.

I hate these kind of answers (taken from the auction):

Q: Wow, this one's a beauty. Does it have the binding over the frets?
A: Yes the neck has binding

            D'oh!
            Congrats on a classy guitar!

Thanks. A previous owner must have installed all-new electronics, because the toggle switches are clearly not stock--they're now the same type you see on Model 6s. The 89 sounds great in this guitar, though.

Sweet, I'm always on the look out for a San dimas soloist.
                White always looks classy too
                Congrats!

It has the original frets and binding-over. I asked the question in the listing because you couldn't definitively make it out in the pics, but after I looked at it for awhile in the listing, I could tell that they were the original frets, and I've never seen an '85 that *didn't* have binding-over. The frets are in decent shape, too, so I shouldn't have to get any work done for quite awhile.

The seller is a really nice guy and certainly not a doofus--he's not a Jackson expert, though, and I don't think he knew about the binding-over distinction. As such, I don't think he knew what I was getting at when I asked the question. He's got a pretty nice little collection--another San Dimas Soloist (Ferrari red), Model 6, Carvin CT-6, and Ibanez Artist.

If we ever get a break from the @#$#ing thunderstorms, I'll take some pics.
