  • Pic post - Shannon Soloist photos re-edited - Before and after!

With a little more Photoshop know-how lately, I've gone back to my original Shannon Soloist source images and tweaked them from the last time you guys have seen the photos. Click on the thumbs for larger versions. Tell me how you like 'em and how they can be improved. Thanks!

Yes, the images on the right came out much better. The only real improvement would be if you sent the guitar to me!

Pretty good! I'm a big photoshop nut myself! It can do miracles on the most trivial of pictures! Good stuff here.

And good to see you again, Alex.
You took too much, man. Too much. Too much.

Long time no see, but good to see you back again Cool results - one day I'll get to grips with photoshop.....

I've been posting sparingly lately, but I'm most definitely still around and paying attention to some of the subforums. The mucoid plaque thread in Non J/C Related was the shit...

Here are some more pics I messed around with this evening. I'm still a hack with Photoshop but I'm gradually learning how to use it to enhance my pics. The effects seem more subtle on this batch, mostly accredited to the fact that my source pictures were better than the Shannon Soloist raw picture batch.

The improvements in the Soloist photos are remarkable

I can't make heads or tails out of Photoshop...

I have my wife do all of the photos of us that we send out as holiday cards, stuff that I sell online, etc.

I'm no expert photographer-anyone who's seen my pics knows that - but that's quite an improvement, especially on the Shannon!

Good job, NOTP! I was thinking the same about the your first batch of pictures: they are too low resolution, both pixel and colour resolution, to really learn from. But i really like your improvements! Tweaking the right things in Photoshop can really make a picture pop out and become more true in colour.

I could write about Photoshop for days, but it's too goddamn hot here right now

One tip, if you don't have already, look into creating actions which can be used for automated batch jobs in PS, which really can make editing a series of photos a breeze (photos taken with the same camera/scanner and under same conditions).

Oh another note (see, i can't stop): many improvements can be made during photographing, which beats post editing hands down. But that takes a good camera and many hours of reading manuals and books

You're like a photographer god compared to me. Hell, just about anyone is.
