The pic/s only gives you a general idea, in person they are beauties.
If I had to choose between the the two (SL1 or a PC-1) the PC-1 will get my money. A great guitar. Wait till you play it, once you do its all over then, you'll be branded and must have it. I'm not a Phil Collen fan like some, but I love his guitars, they are great guitars in themselves. You love it and your 4 hour drive will be worth once you see it and play it.
Yes +1, one on seeing it in person. Like many guitars with trans finishies. The light used to take the picture can vary in the picture quality greatly. When I take the pictures outside, the trans finishes look really great. Indoor flash will blind them out and natural lighting can leave them too dark. So, it's a toss up. Too me, for the most part any color degree of shading is alright because that's what make each piece unique. Just take the guitar from room to room with different lighting and you hava a different color guitar

I have the Solar, Natural and Chlorine PC1 and I like the Solar the best because the quilt really stands out on that one. I got lucky and snagged a Natural with a really nice top (big quilt) last week. The tops are really hit or miss on these things. I'm not a fan of the Mocha. I haven't seen a Root Beer that I like yet and I'm still undecided about Purple Daze.

Awaiting my first PC1 from the PC1 run. This thread isn't helping my patience any! Great guitars they are.

Well looks like there's been a slight change of plans. I wasn't able to make it to Houston today, but looky what popped up on ebay!!

            And for the detail shots:

            how about that neck?

I know that red rum wasn't in my choice of colors, but for this price ($1650!) how can I go wrong? And if I get it and really can't stand the color, I shouldn't have any problem getting my money back out of it. But if they are all as nice as everybody says, I don't think that'll happen. Plus the red really seems to complement the gold hardware.

So opinions?? Did I do good?

I saw that one. Looks like you snagged it? Pretty good deal I'll say. It looks new. I think you will be very happy with it.

$500 less than the price of buying new for a Strathead... looks like you did all right... is it flamey/quilty though... I can't tell from the pics? I like red rum and if it's flamey and you don't like the color maybe we can trade (Root Beer Strathead)

It looks vaguely quilty but I'll know for sure when it arrives. We'll see.

                          Oh and for another question.

What gauge strings come on the PC1 from the factory?

Thanks! I forgot to ask that earlier. I usually play 9s or 10s so I'll just stick with 10s on the PC1.

Yeah, it's funny because the 2 that I have, have the original strings still on them. I had to get my calipers out and check the string diameter and compare them to the advertised specs.
