  • My PC-1's Low E is Buzzing

My Low E is buzzing around the first few frets. I have tried heavier strings (52-10), but it still has a buzz. The Floyd is raised up just above the body, so the action is normal. Any idea's ??? Thanks!

You could have a fret or two that may of lifted on one end.
    Prett easy to fix.

How do I go about fixinging that???
I was also thinking about the truss rod. That perhaps the neck is to concave?

If it's only buzzing on one string, it's most likely a fret problem.
Truss rod issues tend to affect the action across the entire board.
As for fixing it, take it to a shop.

+1 Mr. rj is right. I would take it to a shop with a good luthier. With all the heat and humidity around the world this summer. It may have been affected by the weather.

I would try truss rod first though. If that is the problem it will save you the money of taking it in.

+1. Buzzing usually is more prominent on the E or A strings than the higher strings anyway, so I'd loosen the truss rod just a tiny bit. If there's still a little tiny bit of buzzing, you may just have to deal with it, as a little is common, but it won't be heard through the amp.

How do they fix frets that have lifted out of the board?

They bang 'em with a big hammer. Or at least that's what my old luthier did. Come to think of it, he became my old luthier pretty soon after that.
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

Yep... that's pretty much what you have to do... give 'em a little love tap.
Not with a big hammer though... :ROTF:

But let a pro do it. You can damage the board and/or the frets if you're not carefull.

If they are seated all the way down, then they may just need to be re-crown ed and leveled.

I'm pretty sure they don't use a metal hammer to tap the frets back in guys.

Really... I always used my framing hammer... j/k

I know they don't use metal hammers.
I use small a rubber mallet to tap frets myself.
