Welcome to the club - PC1 that is.

Yep - killer guitars. Reviewed by many on here. Everybody has different tastes and some guys like neck throughs, some guys like V's etc...

But the PC1 playability and sound is second to none when it comes to any USA production guitar by any manufacturer out there.
    PLAY TILL U DIE !!!

Here's a shot of Phil and his Redrum PC1... original headstock.
I took this last night at the show here in Phx.
And yea... it kicked major ass. My wife and I had a blast.
Although the margarita bar needed some help, they tasted like shit.

        Nice quilt.

Hey two namesakes with the same guitar and same color.

        Weird huh?

Awesome pic! Thanks for posting that.

BTW, you're probably going to have to walk me through the adjustment procedure on my sustainer. I tried my other amp and the results are still the same. Very little added sustain when activated. I'll try new batteries next.

Is it possible that I could have plugged the pickup in upside down on the circuit board? I'm trying to think of anything that I could have done.

If I recall correctly, the connector only goes on one way.
But you may want to double check that. It's entirely possible.
First things first... start off with a fresh set of batteries and crank the intensity control knob all the way up.
If that don't work, I'll dig up some pics I have of the PCB board and show you what you will need to tweak.

OK, OK. Problem solved. The problem was dead batteries. I noticed in the back in the control panel there was a red light. I thought it was an activation light or something. Actually it was a dead battery light. Once I changed the batteries the light went off. So I went ahead and plugged it in and turned the sustainer all the way up.

Yikes!! The whole guitar started vibrating. It was the coolest thing! So I backed off the intensity knob and boy was I in sustain heaven!! So I take back everything negative I said about the sustainer. It is incredible.

Now the PC1 is whole. Let the madness begin!!

Sweet... one thing to remember... always keep a spare set of batteries in the case.
I buy the Duracell 9v 4 pack and keep it in my case. Fits like a glove.

:ROTF: Great Bryan! I'm glad that was it!

Mr. Jackson, as I call him, (John Walker) said they are working on a instruction manual for the Sustainer. You know, there never was one written for the darned thing

Keep us posted on how the "Madness" is going!

WOW! Fantastic PC1! The fingerboard is beautiful, as is the top/color. Always wanted a PC1, maybe someday...

Does anybody else have their adjustment wrenches attached to the back of their headstock? I've seen this done and i'm deciding whether or not to do it to mine.

Yeah, mine came that way with the wrenches installed. I just leave them there. If I need an adjustment, I take it to my bench and use the wrenches I have there. I guess, I leave them on the headstock just in case I'm not at home with the guitar and not near any tools.

                          Mine were/are attached as well.
I never use them either, but it's nice to have them there... just in case.

It's kind of funny you asked this. Out of all my C/J guitars, only two came with the wrenches attached to the headstock. My original 1989 SL1 soloist (which I've had since 89) and the SL1 that a bought a year ago. It's no big deal, just a little strange. I haven't attached any of them. I don't feel good about drilling into the back of the headstock.

Now with that being said... I don't think I've ever heard Phil Collen play... anybody have him clips of playing a lead or using the sustainer?
