  • specs for pc-1 recess route?!?

so it looks like i'll be getting a pc-1 before too long (one of the limiteds from matt). i'm thinking i want to put a speedloader bridge in it. the only catch with the speedloader is you do need to have a pretty good recess. can someone measure their cavity and let me know?
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

The PC1 Floyd recess is pretty standard. Just a hair under 1/4" deep.

Simply put, the route is not big enough...
You will have to do some routing on all the dimensions. Top route width and depth will have to be increased and so will the spring cavity on the back.
The back of the route where the string lock screws go will have to be extended almost 1/2" and the depth will have to be made roughly 1/8" deeper.
It can be done and still look good as the trem cavity on a PC1 is not painted... it's natural wood.
You will also have to modify the nut shelf as well.
The info I gave you is based off of my PC1. I've seen slight variations in route depths from on PC1 to another, so keep that in mind as well.

Don't you route the PC1. Let NEWC do it for you. j/k

No problem... I wouldn't chop up a custom anyway.
If it were just a stock PC1 I might consider it, but not a limited run piece.
