It's a good looking guitar just wondering what differences made it worth getting it built in the custom shop? Can you tell us what makes it so special in comparison to, say, a KV2? I see it has a toggle switch, EMGs and it looks like it has an Abalone logo, but apart from that it looks quite like a standard black KV2. Is there something less obvious or is it just that it plays particularly well?

The neck is thinner than the standard Speed Neck, it has extra jumbo frets like the Soloist instead of the standard KV medium jumbos, and it has the gibson-type toggle. I think the body is Mahogany as well. It's the best playing Jackson I've ever owned.

Cool! I should have spotted the jumo frets, but I don't think I could have guessed about the Mahogany wings and the thinner neck. It's certainly subtle for CS piece.

Don't sweat it, Ken. It was one way to blow a Sunday morning here. It would kill him to think I was responding to him between doing housework & making lunch for my kids while my wife was at work.

Rudy, I wish I still had all those pics you sent of your Rhoads years ago to put up for the guys. They really showed off the colour shift of that finish.
