Help- Suggest me a new pickup for my SLS

Hey, if you go with the TZ, do you need regular spaced or F-spaced?
I just bought a RGA321 and the original owner had a regular spaced TZ put in instead of an F-Spaced.

I´ve found out that regular spaced pickups actually work fine in trem´d guitars. No need to worry, I say.

So here's the deal. I have narrowed it down to three possible pickups for more output and a tighter low end.

I believe EMGS would be the best bet sound wise. They are a little more expensive compared to simply replacing the bridge pup but meh.. My concern is I really want cream colored pups. I think EMGS are either grey or white. I bet they would look goofy in this guitar. It currently has cream pickups; the lighting in that pic makes them look white but trust me, they are not.

My second option would be a Dimarzio X2N for more output and a tighter low end. An added benefit would be it is pretty easy to replace the bridge pickup and does not cost as much. I've never heard on in person..

The third and final choice would be a Bill Lawrence XL-500. I had them in my RR and I seem to recall them working well for me. It says on Bill's website that the XL does not work well with many other pups because it is very loud. Can anyone confirm this?

EMGs are available in black, white and ivory. The ivory ones would look awesome in that guitar since they're pretty similar to cream.

Right on Toejam. I thought they only came in black and white. I went to their site and boy was I wrong.

I think I am going to go with EMG's. I think I really liked how they sounded back when I had them. I think I am going to go with an 85 instead of an 81 and either an 89 or 60 in the neck. Any ideas on that one?

The 85 seemed to be a bit more smooth while still having high output, good low end, lots of midrange clarity, etc, etc. It worked very well for leads too.

I can probably get some cash for my current pickups so that should help a little with the cost. Plus I have a birthday coming up.. it was either going to be a new tattoo or some new pickups.

Bill Lawrence 500's are what Prong used on cleansing and the subsequent album (forgot the name)

X2N's rock but I have never put one in a jackson....

A really cool heavy pickup i Love is the Seymour Duncan SH-6. Kick's ass in my Korina Rhoads.

Don't use a Screamin Demon... too muddy IMHO.

I love the 85 in the bridge with either an 81 or 60 in the neck. I've never tried an 89, but it's supposed to be the same as the 85, just with the ability to go into single coil mode by either a mini switch or push/pull.

I had an X2N for many years in my old 600ST (plywood) Kramer which actually sounded really good in that guitar. I put it in my old Charvel Model 5A after that and it was pretty bright. It sounded awesome in my old Warrior MG mutt, though, paired up with a Super 2 in the neck. I'm a big DiMarzio fan (X2N, Super D, Super 2, Tone Zone), but I seem to prefer EMGs more now.

You can, but you'll need to run them on separate controls since the EMGs use 25k pots and the passives will need 500k, 250k or 1meg. And a booster will be needed to keep the output levels even between the two.

i know that im new here...havent even posted an intro.
