After watching it I have no doubt now that it is a sparkle. I tried to capture some shots to show it but you can tell by watching the dvd that it is definitely a sparkle. Small detail, but notice there is no cover over the springs. I can't tell if it is recessed for a plate or not though.

That guitar looks cool as all heck, Sully. Thanks!

Pretty similar to what I was going for. I was thinking maybe bigger metalflakes, but less density of them, though. i.e., Slightly bigger sparkle effect, but without the fully intense "bowling ball" appearance you get on some. And maybe a metallic gold basecoat, instead of silver. We'll see.

Alright, I'll concede that it may be a sparkle. But a pretty subtle one, if it is.

That is not correct. Cooder did all of Karate Kid's parts except for the last classical bit.

I would have totally agreed with you till I watched it again. I always thought it was red but I was wrong.

                it's definitely metallic.

unless the guitar in the ad for $28XX. is dimly lit, it doesn't look close to the original color.

Found the pic I was looking for.

In some light, the metalic finish can look dull or flat.

In others, it pops. And yes, this is the same guitar pictured in my previous post.
Amazing how a little change in lighting can make a big difference in appearance.

Is it me but the base plate area where the fine tuners are looks black(in the video).I know the locking screws are black on all floyds,I guess its the lighting.
                          Really? well screw Mark Twain.
