Nuclear Yellow SL value?

Found a Nuclear Yellow SL2H, not sure if it's a CS guitar. I will have to go back and take a close look, very short of time yesterday. It did look virtually new from 3 feet away. What would one of these go for new?

Depends what it is - there seem to have been a decent number of SL2s (no inlays, cheap trem) in yellow though, so it'd be worth making sure it's definitely an SL2H (or similarly spec'd guitar)....

It definitely has inlays and says made in USA on the headstock. As i said I will be heading back there to take a closer look and scope the SN. I ask because the price on it was sky high in my opinion, about $2900 USD.

Could be a Yellow Gold Pearl SL2H, but without more detail who knows? If it is, then that price is pretty spectacularly high though!

$2900 US? Wow, that´s pretty steep. Sounds high even for something outta the customshop. Could it be one of those limited Road Hazard Soloists? They only made like ten of those, iirc, which could add some collectors value.

Who ordered those originally? GuitarXpress? I guess they´d be off their website by now, though. I can´t remember if they had matching headstocks or not... but they did have black binding, some sort of diamond-plate control covers and the "red line" knobs. Should be pretty easy to identify from that info if you can get a good look at it, since those are pretty unique details.

I know I wanted one of those badly when they came out... they look so sleek and sporty... but I don´t think I´d pay almost three grand for one.

EDIT: I don´t know if the Hazards got custom numbers or not, but I´m guessing the tag should say Road Hazard Yellow, not Nuclear Yellow. Sounds like it´s a one-off custom, then, since Nuclear never was a standard Select finish either.

Yeah, the Road Hazards was GuitarXpress, and I'd assume they had U0 serials. As you say though, the hangtang would say 'Road Hazard Yellow', not nuclear. I don't think Nuclear Yellow was has been a std colour description recently (if ever), so if it's the Jackson hang-tag that says that, maybe it is a CS guitar....

I´m pretty certain that Nuclear never has been a standard USA finish, so if the original tag says Nuclear it´s a custom. Three grand sounds awful high for a one-off (non-collectible) Soloist in a custom color, but maybe I´m out of touch with the pricing these days.

I had one of the Road Hazard Soloists. They did have a matching headstock and U0 serial numbers. All the other details Nelli provided are correct as well.
