They were all built to spec back then
Generally it'll either be a Soloist Custom (model designation) or a Soloist Student. The former will generally have ebony fretboard & sharkfin inlays, the latter, rosewood fretboard & dot inlays.

Not so odd, I´d say... probably volume, tone and on/off for the three pickups. Pretty common in the late eighties. Or am I missing something in the pic?Comment
