    I coulda sworn it was a black plastic pickguard that had some wear and tear on it but I could be wrong.

      I would be happy to settle for another finish, but like I said, the difference between a lower value finish and a higher one could mean the difference between having to pay my detuctible and not. I don't particularly want to pay for a guitar I already bought once if I can avoid it.
