thanks for the info. i play 50's necks on les pauls so, yeah the thicker the better. lots of wood.

anyway, i guess i am just old school with the whole neck thru thing. never understood the DK1. but the way you guys rave i'm gonna give it a shot. planning on doing it today, but the rumor is that turdball David lee Roth is supposed to be there. UGGGHHH! i got nothing against the guy, he just attracts flies. if i wanted to play guitars amonst idiots i'd go to Guitar Center.

so the bolt on neck has no negative anything ? i know that the difference between the DKMG and the SLSMG is night and day, and they all have the same hardware and P.U.s

The PC1 is a whole different beast.
Trust me, once you play one, you will want to own one.
Tons of tone and the neck is like butta'.

        Recto -

You've really got to try it out. Neck is such a personal thing...some like neck through, some like set, some bolt on, some oiled, some finished etc. I think it has a lot to do with the ergonomics of how YOU play. I have never had any problems with bolt ons and fret access and I have been happy with the sustain and tone of my bolt-ons as well. YMMV.

Conceptually, I love the idea of neck throughs. But again, for me it doesn't rank at the top of my list as to "buy factors" for a guitar. So many other variables rank higher on my list. And then there is an intangible called mojo. Some guitars have it...some don't. Doesn't matter whether it is neck through, made in USA, Pick-up types, wood type...there are guitars that just have that mojo. 2 guitars, same model, same build date can be very different. One can have it, one may not. And when you get one....keep it.

For me, my PC-1 has got mojo.

Thanks! Here's a link to a thread I started on this, with pics: http://www.jcfonline.com/forums/show...383#post828383

Today is the first day I have been able to plug in and put it through its paces, and I am really enjoying it. It is a totally different animal from my other guitars, and I'm having a blast. I was worried about the thicker neck, as I do like thin necks, but it is very comfortable.

I never had any trouble adjusting to the neck on my PC1 either. Really nice and comfy to play.

Mesaa - If I were you, I would start diggin up every possible picture of him playing a red guitar on this tour, then try and match the quilt up on the guitar you have to one hes playing live.....Next time I talk to Phil I will ask him about using this live......

That's a tall order...the Red Rum's are hard to photograph to show off their quilt. I also checked out that site and can only find a couple of photos of Phil playing a red PC-1 and they aren't of a high enough quality.

Good recommendation though and I will keep trying to find a decent photo.

Yea, they are tough to photo. I finally took a pic of my rig - The lace Phil borrowed for some of the X tour, his GSP2101 from Adrenalize tour and the Randall RG80 used for the entire Hysteria tour...

Wow, that is a cool guitar. Love that Lacewood...very unique! Are you a friend of Phil's? He played a GSP2101 on the Adrenalize Tour? What other amp/effects did he have in his rack?

hehe, back in the early 90's I was GASing for the TSR-24. Been thinking about picking one up cheap on ebay.

                              Cool stuff and "histeric".
