    do there exist any Jackson Kelly models with 24 frets, made around 1983-1986?

      That´s exactly what I was thinking.... But wasn´t the shape first devised like in ´89 or so?

          IIRC it was not 89 but not 83 either. I guess 84 or 86. And I don't remember an old kelly with 24 frets. All the ones I saw were 22...

            Marty Friedman's first ke-1 was a 22 fret,too.
            I wish my hair-color was EDS :/

              The older Kelly models were 22 frets... and they were also King size. Then they got downgraded to a medium size, then when Marty had his models made for him, they got downgraded to the smaller size they are today. As for when 24 frets got added, not too sure.

                Many SD-era Kellys - maybe even most - were 22 fretters. There may be some 24s out there, but they're not going to be easy to find. Early Kelly prduction was low to begin with.
