??? Pau Ferro is a great neck wood, I have a warmoth strat with a pau ferro neck and a kingwood board and its one of the best playing necks I've ever used. Pau Ferro isn't exactly a rare wood either. Cocobolo yea sure, pau ferro not so much.

Yeah, they use a lot of glue and bar clamps. A nice thing about the laminated neck is there is no "scarf" joint. The neck and head stock are carved completely from the wood "billet". It's very stable. I don't believe there is much of a difference in strength between a scarf neck and a non-scarf neck though.
