Blade or toggle - who gives a flying f**k? They're both fine. Not to mention neck-through vs. bolt-on, jumbo vs. medium jumbo, Duncans vs. Dimarzios, whatever.

If you're so set in your ways about what prefer about a guitar that you won't buy one because of a simple small blade switch, something ain't right. Be flexible, variety is the spice of life.

In fact, I kind of like the blade set-up on the KVs becuase it gives you the flexibility to switch it out to a 5-way, for coil splitting options. Might do that on mine, at some point. (...Single coil tones on a KV? Oh the horror! )

With the super 5 way on my 750XL, Distortion Mayhem pickup set, I get pretty good "straty" tones when splitting the coils. Smoke on the Water baby!

Ok, I know is a simple switch and of course a simple switch is not a reason for the selection of a guitar...

But, however I was just asking a question, out of doubt, curiosity, etc. Since I had that particular preference I wondered if someone else did too, now, I see many of you consider it a simple switch, then, this is addressed to those who do care. Thanks...

If I had my way, I'd put a toggle switch on all my guitars. I just prefer them over the blade switch, but I'll deal with the blade if it's there.

                Simple solution........Get a KV2T. It's already got a toggle.
Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

Yeah, but I don't like the inlays, 22 frets, no floyd, heastock shape, etc etc. (on the KV2T)

I wonder why Jackson chose the blade, I mean, they could easily standarize the Kelly/King V/Rhoads line (they're all pointy and beveled) since the other two (KE-2 and RR1) have toggles and the control configuration on the RR1 is the same as a KV-2...

That's why I was thinking, how come if the other two have those, they choose a 3 way blade which is nothing special to me, I mean, if it was a 5 way switch then maybe there was a purpose, but given it selects 3 ways, then there's no special deal about it.

My guess is that Dave Mustaine liked the blade switch, and even now that they parted ways, they still keep it.

I find KVs more comfortable that Kellys.. perfect balance.

As for the blade vs toggle thing, I hate toggles! They feel weak and a blade is much easier to flip up and down. I'll deal with the toggle if it's there, but I try to avoid them.
"I hate these filthy neutrals! With enemies, you know where they stand. But with neutrals... who knows? It sickens me!"

KV2T has 24 frets, but I doubt that'll persuade you.

Mustaine uses a toggle ever since the Y2kV

Oh I totally got confused, I was talking about the 24 3/4 scale thing, I got messed up sorry.

Yeah but the Y2K is not a King V, I'm talking about the KV model itself, I really think they should standarize the beveled modeles, all with a toggle.

I believe blade switches are nonsense unless they have like a special switching system like the 5 way switch or whatever (which I also don't really think is important), I mean, maybe on Fenders, maybe on some Ibanez's, stuff like that, but a 2 humbucker pointy V shaped guitar, I think it will look much better with the toggle. Plus, the blade is too bulky, it gets on my way when reaching for the knobs, and the smurf cap keeps falling off since it's not screwed on like on the toggle switches.

Find an older KV2T... a bunch of them were spec'd wrong in the beginnging and got sent out with the 25.5" scale.

I don't like the KV2T in general, starting from the inlays to the headstock shape, no bevels, no floyd.

I was just sharing ideas about my switch issues I truly hopw Jackson will make the whole beveled line with a toggle...

Actually, do someone know for sure WHY do they chose a blade ONLY for the KV-2 model? I mean, the KE-2 and the RR-1 don't... Maybe there's a reason.
