Uh, that's gonna generate a hell lot of bass.....!
Uh, how do you figure? The 81 is brighter, the 85 has more low end. Most people use the brighter 81 in the bridge with the darker/warmer 85 in the neck. The warmer pup in the bridge with the brighter pup in the neck works better for me. Though, whatever position you put them in, you won't get any mud.

      > if you want to get that sound, the EMG PA2 is made to get close

+1 ... i have one and it kicks ass to make any amp sound like a f¢£in metal machine (don't try it with single coils, tho!!)

What alot of people don`t realize is the EMG 85 has more output than the 81 and has more low/mids than the 81. I like both pickups and try both in my guitars to see which sounds the best. The 85 can get a little to bassy and hot in some guitars, but the 81 can be too shrill in some. Try them both Jack.

Where did you get that information? I heard that he uses HZ4 and a copy of JE1000 made by some finnish store. Guitar has a small switch so it can't be the JE1200 (they had pots, right?).

Definitely throw some EMGs in that RR-1. IMO they should be stock on them in the first place.

I agree. And wire those bitches up at 18 volts and rock out with your cock out!

The gain boost itself was on a pot, but you could get it with a switch to turn it on and off.

They sound great, very tight and heavy as hell.

Not JE1200. JE1000 had the switch to turn it on or off.

What EMG's are you using, also is it 9 or 18 volt??? I have an RR3 I want to put EMG's in and was wondering how they work/sound for you. Also I'm wondering if I'd be able to fit in 2 9v batteries if I do go for it.

Thanks, and by the way....cool guitar.

I saw a video of him somewhere showing off his guitar and flicking the little switch saying it turns the active electronics on.
