Custom Price increase

My dealer told me there was a price increase going into effect today on Custom Jacksons, anyone else hear of this? They say to the tune of around 15% to 20%.

damn, so that dream custom guitar I'm designing in my head but will never have the balls (read: cash) to pony up for will cost more now? bugger it.

Not shocking at all. I heard this about a month ago, from a dealer, that maybe it would be as much as a 50% increase but he wasn't totally sure yet.

If reducing demand helps shorten wait times and reduce the number of custom pieces with QC issues I think it would be worth it. If production remains as is + a significant price increase then :P

I have been thinking about a custom Jackson for a long time.
But to be honest, with an price increase in that height.
I will settle with an Austrian or German Luthier. Cause they build the guitar really custom and are not that pricey.
Or for small custom features a Jackson Stars from Japan would be possibility.
But thats just my HO.

I am starting to think about BC Rich custom shop.

Man, what is going on there at Jackson? Last increase was like 15% on Select series guitars and no increase on the Customs and that is when I ordered my custom Soloist. If Jackson would have increased the price of customs by 15% let alone 25% I would have never ordered it. I was starting to think up another one, basically a 1 Hum all mahogany Star with a Kahler Pro and 24.75 scale, but I think will have to wait or go to a small luthier and there is a very good one in Cleveland,OH called Hill Guitars. I will wait and see on this one and see if the increase is true. Sad news if true and starting to push me away from Jackson if true Jack.

Wow, this sucks, so now I need to save even MORE money... I'm thinking BC Rich too, maybe Gibson.

Prices are going up alright. I've seen some pricing lists. For those who have seen the pricing, you already know what I'm talking about. It was a bit shocking. I'm guessing their niche market is the mid to late 30's to 40 somethings. And these are the people that now have the money to buy those guitars they always wanted and relive a part of their youth. We'll I'm here to tell you, I fit right in that catagory and I'll be damned if I'm giong to spend $5,500-$6,500+ for a custom shop C/J with a freakin death skull or blood splattered abortion graphic. I could be wrong but I'm kinda getting a sinking gut feeling this may be the beginning of the end.
