Not to derail the thread, but my biggest beef is that the Jackson dealers near me (and when I say "near" me, I'm talking about a 200-mile radius) don't usually have ANY USA Jackson with ANY equipment.

Yeah, I could have sworn somebody started a topic about that recently...

My biggest problem is with painted necks. I've just stripped down my SL2H and Archtop Soloist Custom as I just can't stand it anymore. My Rhoads is next!!!!
As others have suggested, I'd like to see more Reverse Headstocks, different pickups, Bareknuckle for example, Hiscox cases (which are the best), thinner necks on Soloists and better distribution to the UK. I've lost a lot of business due to the at least 12 month wait for USA selects and 19 months on average for Custom Shop guitars.

I think the USA dinky is almost perfect, but they should offer it with a maple board option, "speed" neck option and different passive pickup variations:
H
HH
HSS
and maybe even the ugly but practical HSH
If someone wants to add EMGs they can, but you can't get rid of that annoying battery compartment if you want passive pickups!Last edited by tanpsi; 02-22-2007, 05:21 PM.

as far as the 24 fret thing with the rhoads...what is the big deal about that? do all of you actually NEED those extra frets regularly?"It wasn't the world being round that agitated people, but that the world wasn't flat. [ ... ]
The truth will seem utterly preposterous, and its speaker, a raving lunatic."

I love some of the statements by individuals in this thread that everybody would prefer the options that they (the individual) want. Thanks for speaking on our behalf...Hail yesterday

and because there seem to be A LOT of guys on this board that talk a big game about they'd drop the cash on a 24 fret rhoads, but then whine about the price!!!GEAR:

[quote=VitaminG;878848]At least two people in this thread have stated that everyone else would prefer EMGs in their new Jacksons, so you are clearly in the minority here.
yeah...i know. i am not metal enough for the sheer skull crushing power of stock EMG pickups!!!! i beg forgiveness from those mighty skull crushers that rely on EMG....GEAR:

With a standard nut though, with a reverse headstock the lower strings will feel more slinky and the higher strings will have a tighter feel. The G & D strings will be least affected because there isn't much difference in string length behind the nut as compared to a standard headstock.
I personally prefer standard headstocks in both look and feel.

Many people do not consider EMGs an upgrade, but rather a downgrade.
And I do agree that a 3-way toggle on the KV would be better - really, does the KV strike you as the model to want the tonal variation offered by swapping the 3-way blade with a 5-way?I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

I mean, the King V doesn't look that "versatile" I mean, most of the time you'll be playing it on the humbuckers... see, if you had the king v with a toggle and mahogany, you'd save that extra couple grands and buy a stratocaster with single coils and 5 way blade...

I only sold it back to the original owner cause his mom helped him buy it and she recently passed away. Otherwise I would have kept her.The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.
