Remember me saying that a USA Jackson is about as common as a virgin driving a Corvette around my area? Well, I didn't want to speak too soon and jinx this in case it turned out to be less than I had hoped for. Anyway....

....brace yourselves.....

Today, I bought a BRAND NEW SL1 in Blue Ghost Flames for.....$1219.00 plus taxes. It's a couple of years old, but new (never been sold) and not a single scratch on it. Factory hardshell case included with wrenches.

I had to drive three hours one way to get it (seriously). I had the guy describe it to me on the phone ("Made in USA" on the headstock, neck-through body, real Duncans, etc...). The guy said that he was, quite frankly, tired of looking at it. It had been there for two years and there didn't seem to be anyone intererested. Personally, I need another guitar like I need a hole in my head, but this was just too sweet. When he first told me about this over the phone, and then quoted me $1219.00, it sounded way too good to be true and I was sure I would get over there and it would either be dinged up, or it would be an SL3 and he had lied about the headstock or whatever, but nope. It was for real.

I'll post pics later this evening so I don't get banned, but right now it's with a local tech getting a setup.

Roughly the same distance as you, but in the opposite direction. Mapquest guestimated it at 2 hours, 51 minutes, but I made it in about two and a half and that was with a couple of stops. Mapquest assumes that I'll drive within the speed limits. Yeah, right!

I got it at Concert Productions in Murfreesboro, just slightly southeast of Nashville. What I also found interesting, and I told them this, is that they're just a small mom-n-pop shop but they literally have about three times the number of Jacksons hanging on the wall as my local Guitar Center.

If you're interested, they have one of the limited edition DK2's in the window with that really funky flame paint job. I forget what it's called, but it looks really nice in person.

My local Guitar Center once had one of the DK2GC's or whatever it was called. I thought it was pretty nice.

Michael is the SL2H Shattered Glass I wrote a novelette about on here three weeks ago.

Jermaine is the SL1 I bought today.

Tito is the USA Fusion I got from The Eristic on here. Note black EMG-81 with white EMG-SA's. Yes, it's ugly. No, I don't care.

Marlon is an import Fusion EX with EMG's.

Jackie is an Indian-made DX-10X of dubious quality.

My camera doesn't seem to have a setting called "Don't Suck Donkey Balls," but my brother-in-law is a pro photographer and I'm going to have him make some good outside shots when the weather gets better.

Yeah, Joe mentioned that you got rid of it for the same reason he did; the thin "speed" neck. I'm starting to like the thicker necks better myself. I grew up with Les Paul copies and then got into Kramers, all of which have the thicker neck.

Congrats on the new SL1! Your initial post said it was a blue ghost flame. Is it my computer settings or did you score a black ghost flame? Either way, both are killer.
