  • PC-1 Limited Run Users Unite

I am sure most everyone has seen at least one picture of this run already. So here are more.

I am very pleased overall with mine and run. I know a few people had electronics issues and I think at least one person's has been resolved. I had two of the locking nuts and screws loose in my case and found a scratch on the back of the guitar and there are two small stresses in the finish on the front. I only noticed them when I brought it out into the sun today. The top on mine is killer. I really like the quilt.

At first I was pretty pissed at the setup job. I had all sorts of string buzzing and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell was going on. I finally realized I never locked down the locking nuts after I first tuned it. Problem solved. It plays very nice and neck is ultra smooth.

I figured out how the sustainer works and it works as advertised. I have no idea what I'll do with it yet but it does work well.

The one gripe I do have is they aren't numbered. I was thinking we would get 1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc. It took 18 months to finally get these. Thanks to all who participated and Matt for getting the order done. It took some prodding at first as no one seemed to want to ask Jackson about doing a limited run of these after the strathead was announced on the PC1.

I love mine too bro, really like your quilt. I had to re-do my set up and adjust the floyd springs, but it plays like butter now. I too found a few slight hair scratches in the sun...

Awesome pics Jack, thats what I wanted to see lots of closeups and shots of the back. I didn't know if it was natural of dyed(the back that is). Looks real good in the light. Congrats.

BTW what lens are you using and what setting.

p.s.- am I in the club?

My wife took those shots with a Canon EOS 30-D and a EF 17-85 mm lens. Outside of that I don't know what the settings were.

I guess your in the club. You just had to go and be a rebel though.

              Question:

How are those PC guitars different than a Fender Stratocaster S-S-H with Floyd? Besides the active electronics, finish and 24 frets?

Just to start off, heavy meaty flamed maple neck, jumbo frets, mahogany body, quilt maple top, Dimarzios, and well, the sustainer system is huge. As a Custom shop option they charge about $1k for it.

The two guitars in this comparison are very very different, and when you hear the sound of a PC1, you immediately know this.

The quilt top on that one is really nice. Mine will be here on Wed.

Tell your wife nice shots. I especially like the one where the guitar if off to the left(2nd shot).

Nice pictures. Glad yours came out OK and you are happy. Mine didn't and I await a replacement.

I thought they were going to be numbered as well? The other runs that I know of were numbered. Although the numbers looked cheapo with the permanent marking pen.

A flamed PC1 strathead neck alone is now a $900 option on Charvel custom shop axes, don't know what it would be on a non PC-1 Jackson, but it wouldn't be inexpensive
