OK, here's another one given to me by my "famous" friend...
I believe it's a 1997. I asked the question here a while ago and found out that it was a small run done for some guitar shop in Texas. Jackson had this one sitting around the factory until they gave it to Jim in 2001. I like to set-up his guitars everytime I'm over at his house but I always took this one out to play myself. I love this Soloist. So last Christmas Jim called me up and said he had a present for me. This was it...
I do have a question about this, check out the pic below...
See the gap between the end of the fretboard and the neck pickup? Were all 22 fret Soloists like that? My theory is that this was supposed to be a 24 fretter, but they decided after routing the spot for the humbuckers, that they would slap a 22 fret fretboard on it. Just a theory though...
Either way, this guitar smokes. I replaced the black pickup rings with the chrome ones. Seems to look cooler that way. Kinda ties the whole guitar together...
