I have an 87 Kramer baretta II (this is the larger dinky style).The JB in this guitar is the shit why I don't know maybe age has mellowed it.
The (very) old JBs are said to be different from the current model and a lot better. No first hand experience here, I only read that on the Bareknuckle pickups forum. Also the bareknuckle Holy Diver pickup is supposed to sound kinda similar to the original JB. The Holy Diver is an awesome pickup.
