SL2H vs. SL2H-MAH

I've had several SL2Hs, but never the mahogany-bodied version (SL2H-MAH).

Can anyone with hands-on experience compare them for me? I'm guessing the mahogany version is heavier and sounds darker, but I don't know how noticeable the difference is, and I'd like to hear from people who've actually had both.

MAH version actually weighs a bit less. Mahogany body is a bit heavier than alder body, but maple neck thru is much heavier than mahogany neck thru.
In general the popular beleif of mahogany as very heavy wood is based on Les Paul weigth, but LP's have a thick maple top. And SG's or V's are not heavy at all.

Thanks! Now that you mention it, the mahogany Ibanez RG I formerly played was very light.

Not to mention that LPs have really thick bodies, when compared to your typical Strat/Soloist shape. The SL2H-MAH is probably a little bit heavier, but not a big difference.

My SLSMG weighs way lighter than my KV2

but the KV2 has a floyd rose right? That is a heavy sh*t right there. I am comparing two hard-tails (slsmg and dk2t) and the slsmg is lighter.

KV2 also has the maple thru body neck No point in comparing KV2 - slsmg

that's because it's a SuperLightSoloist - the body is thinner.
