A dinky is the same as a soloist as far as the body shape.

It's a custom shop charvel. The pic was from the guy I got the guitar from, so it's his guitar too. Just got the guitar from shipping... very nice. Gold hardware is a little tarnished in spots, but stuff happens. We'll see how some careful application of metal polish works on it.

I have a dark metallic red '97 DK-1. It a great guitar! I like the 22 fret SSH configuration. I used to have a 2004 DK-1 that was 24 frets and EMGs but I sold it and kept the '97.

I had a sunburst '99 SSH USA Dinky which was very very cool, I think I should not have sold itcause it was a great guitar!! 22 frets are not a problem, you have all you need to shred in the right way

Definitely like mine- but mine has more quilting. What year is it, by chance?

Yup- You don't need more frets if your Floyd pulls up!!

I love these, one of these days I'll snag a blue(purpley) burst one.
                    Have fun with it!

                      Here is mine:
                      1997 Jackson Ontario built DK-1:
Seems a little darker than the other one pictured here.
                      Love this guitar.

Nice dinky. I had a black one for a while it was a very nice player. I personaly love the early USA Dinkys 'cause I 'm not too crazy about the EMG's in the DK1. Those me be the best bang for $ for a USA Jackson.

I think they used to be a bit bigger, I havent played any new(ish) ones in a while.

But I distinctly remember the Dinky being a bit more nicely shaped, not as big, etc.

But they are both great by all means

BTW: You guys have some AMAZING guitars

                            Noice guitar.
I love Dinky's and the smaller body is very easy to get used to.

I think they were possibly, too- I bought a case that was for one of the new MIJ Dinkys, and my SD Fire Crackle Dinky doesn't fit- the case doesn't close. Even without the trem arm....LOL

I love mine. DK1 was my pick over many others in the same price range. I was a little limited on brands at all my local guitar shops. But I feel in love with this one. Ive played my home made Strat-clone and a Epi SG before this Jackson. Hope you like yours.
