Fusion models question

I picked up a really nice Fusion body. I'm wondering what model it would be. In the neck pocket in stamped ink it says FU-STD. Then in magic marker it says 88638 San Dimas. I would venture to say it's a Fusion Standard, Made in USA at the San Dimas plant?? It has 1vol, 1 tone and a slot for a 5 way switch, H-S-S. Thanks in advance, Rob

No Fusion "standard" was made in San Dimas/Glendora. The Fusion wasn't created by Jackson until about 1989, well after the move. Fusion Standards were Japanese guitars. You got pictures?

The FU STD is kindof hard to see. On looking closer there seems to be a few other numbers in stamped ink but I can't make it out. For what it's worth, anyone could have written san dimas in it hey? The other possibility is that maybe it isn't a fusion? It was sold to me as a Fusion and the guy was a cool, honest seller. The body shape and size is exactly like my 91' Soloist with the acception of a beveled edge at the high fret access cut. ( I shot a pic of the soloist for the heck of it!)


At any rate it's gonna be a sweet guitar. What it actually is, is more of a curiosity. My brother is a builder and he's workin on a custom neck for it. Ebony on Maple.

If you are getting a neck made and it IS a fusion body, don't forget it's not a 25.5" scale neck for a fusion. I think it's 24.75" (someone confirm plz )

Yes, Thats why I bought it. I like 24 3/4 scale but don't dig LPs or SG's much. They are cool but not for me.

Definitely not a USA Fusion body, nor is it an early Pro body. No mini toggle for the active switching. Not sure how else to tell, I'm not up on the later import models...
