That's about the weirdest way I've ever seen a body carved before. The die grinder he's using is the same one I've got. It's a super cheap Chinese thing that cost me $15.
    Sleep!!, That's where I'm a viking!!

Pablo built my Death Jacksons. Blasphemy...not many other guys have the balls to build these radical axes. Don't discourage him...

Thanks guys, it means a lot that you and Bengal liked it. That's what I keep coming back to, the sound of this thing.

For Kelly User, a pic of the back of the neck. I also have a lot more pics of the whole build process if you want:

I understand your love for this axe. Very similar to my 750XL string thru that I have a similar great appretiation for. Not the greatest picture...

That would be a 7-piece neck, not 9.

                      It's amazing, though!

Funny thing is that last year when I posted these pictures, I wrote it was a 5 piece neck.

I must hate the number 7!!

Very cool. Funny about the missing string. Payed all that and had to string her up right away. Guess e strings cost a lot now. Great pic and congrats. Enjoy!

Great axe! I dig the finish but it does point out the weakness of spruce bodies / tops, there's little interesting grain pattern there to work with. Still, it's a beautiful piece.

This is sitka bearclaw spruce. The variations are subtle, and small, but they are there. I can't capture it in pictures, but the grain lines are thin, interesting. Like flame maple with gashes, but on a much smaller scale.
