the angle of my vvv's body makes recessed trem not necessary .. and interesting they used a rosewood board then .. from what I gather most all were ebony .. how does it play ?

I've seen a few oddball Jacksons, IIRC all from around '89-ish that had routed but non-recessed trems. I believe they did that for a very brief time right in that time frame but someone better versed in Jackson's history than I will have to verify that.

Plays very nice, like most from that era.

I have an 89 Rhoads with factory scalloped 12-22 frets and it too has the route under the Floyd but not recessed. In fact its my main stage guitar.
