  • Second new toy of the month!

So here's my second new toy of the month! I bought a well used single hum soloist from Diego a couple of months or so ago, with the plan of turning it into this:

so I had Diego ship the guitar direct to Marty Bell for a refinish. Obviously, Lee @ GMW is the logical choice for this kind of work, not least cos Dan Lawrence would have done the graphic, but it came down to the fact that I just didn't really want to wait 9 months or more for it!! Unfortunately, try as I might, I couldn't find any decent pics of Danny's guitar, so between myself, Marty and the graphic guy, we did the best we could - this was cool with me, as it was never gonna be a total replica anyway, due to the non reverse inlays and the yellow logo, which I didn't want to change as it appears to be factory original!

Anyway, here's some pics of the finished article:

The hardware is a little tarnished, and so will probably be replaced in the not too distant future, but other than that, this thing looks like new! Marty does great work for sure! Another nice thing is that this guitar is from 1988 (as the Spitz guitar) and it's a factory original single hum soloist with a non-recessed Floyd - great combination!

    Oh, and I couldn't resist

Awesome Ian. Marty is great! So, since his normal work is a one week turnaround, what did this take two weeks?

          Excellent and very cool!

Nah, a little bit longer than that, due to the outsourcing of the graphic and some miscommunication on my part!

                      Very cool,
but the thing that I like the most is the look of the non-finished neck-thru neck!
