  • Please ID my new Jackson USA

Noob here. I have a question for you all. I recently bought a used Jackson USA. I am trying to find out which model it is. The serial number says it was made in 1998 in Ontario. It is transparent black. It has the pearl sharkfins, bolt on neck, OFR, 24 frets, and is a H/S/S. It has Dimarzios, but I assume those were after market additions. I THINK it is a DK1, but I am not sure. All the ones I can find that have 24 frets are H/H EMGs. Am I correct in my assumption? I paid $800 for it. Good price? I really love it; it skipped right over my USA Strat to become my number one. Anyway, any help would be appreciated...

          '98 DK1s were HSS but 22 frets.

          What's the ser# ?

I am too tired tonight to go upstairs and look it up, but I am pretty sure it was 004808. When I get up tomorrow, I will confirm that.

everything that immediately springs to mind is from much earlier (PCS Flamed Dinky, Dinky 24, Dinky Custom) and so doesn't gel with your timeframe.

the Dimarzios got me thinking though - is it possible it's a PC1, and someone has replaced the neck with one from a newer DK1? Have you checked the heel and pocket for stamps/writing?

Well, that is the serial number. I guess it could be a different neck, but I thought those were hard to come by. I got the date from this site:

My pictures will be developed tomorrow and I will scan them and post them.
                Thanks for your help.

edit-No, I haven't checked the neck pocket....kinda makes me nervous about removing the neck.

Fusion? If it's got a 24.75" scale length instead of 25.5", then it's a Fusion.
