I'm not a V guy. But if I had to choose, I'd take a King V. I like the horns ballenced, ie the same length...

But the RR is cool as well...

But KV if I had to choose. But I'd buy and SL2 before either of those...

If I could find a 22 fret KV, I'd be all over it, but as it stands, I'd take a KV anyways lmao

Haha, someone seems to make this same thread every 6 months or so.

I still say King V first. It is bigger. It has no ugly pickguard. You can stand it up (on carpet) by itself. I find the longer upper horn on the RR1 sticks out a little too far for comfort. There's a reason why most used RRs have paint chips out of the point. I think the KV just looks more evil.

King V because I've owned 3 RRs and they looked small on me, I did like them though. I played a couple of KVs and I thought they were great(except for the damn volume knob!).

Funny - that's why I prefer a KV. That and the clearner appearance of no electronics plate on the front. They're both cool, though. Can't go wrong with either.

I prefer the RR shape over the KV. However, I have both and enjoy playing them equally.

Depends on the day. A week ago I was buying a RR1 but now I'm heavily considering a KV. But no matter, you will eventually buy couple of each .

I like the Rhoads short wing. It makes for a natural fit when in the classic rock stance. On the looks side, it just looks cool. Like it is flowing in a way.

The King looks good too, but I like the look and feel of the Rhoads better. A friend of mine has one of each and says that he likes both equally, but that he does play the Rhoads more.

It all comes down to personal preference, as in everything else...

I have an RR1T and love it. It is a tad more difficult to play sitting down than a king V, due to the shorter lower wing, but I think the cool looks compensate for this.
