  • I love getting calls like this...

So, the guitar center where I live knows me fairly well. I buy a lot of stuff in there because there isn't too much of an alternative selection of stores which carry the stuff I like. So, I get calls from the sales reps that know my tastes.

So I got a call from this guy he says that he just got a email of a untouched RR1 that is white with black pinstripes. I was like ok, get it over here and let me play with it. I end up keeping it for about 3 days slap some new strings on it, the body style just doesn't jive with me. I cannot get situated properly with a Rhoads. So, I return it and order something that I know I will like. A Black Stringthrew Hardtail SL2HT Sharkies, the whole deal. Basically, the bread and butter of metal players. It is one of those guitars that I have always wanted but didn't have the cash at the time or couldn't find one. He says that they are pretty much out of jacksons for a while because of the buyout and not replenishing stock and he is guessing 3-5 months before delivery. That is fine.

5 Minutes ago, I get a call starting off with the words "Guess what?" I love these types of calls. He says it is going ot be in next week =). He said that it was a good thing that I ordered a bread and butter, they must have had some laying around at the Jackson Factory =).

    Woot! =)

Great story! It's always good to be in with those who have access to items the regualr person may not.

Remember to throw up some pics when you get it or else the

    monsters will come out!!

Hey, just noticed you're in Campbell, would this be the SJ GC or the Gilroy GC?

Yeah... Showcase can get a a little bit snobby. It seems like that if it ain't classic rock down there, it ain't right. That's ok... there are plenty of other stores around here within driving distance which are pretty bad ass. Gelb(drool), Center, Griffon and that isn't even touching San Francisco.

Just curious...I make my way in that direction once a month or so and stop by. I just figured out a few months ago that the GC on Steven's Creek moved across the street. That SJ shop is nice!

I live south of Gilroy, so stop there more often as it's closer.

So, excuse the cameraphone pics. When I get a chance, I will take real pictures.

Brand new SL2HT string threw soloist only fingerprints on this fucker was the ones from quality control. Plays like a dream. The guy opened the box for me over at Guitar Center just to prove that no little 14 year olds got their shitty little sandpaper claws all over it. Extremely happy so far.

MY SL2HT is the best guitar I've played.

Some how the strings come out of my guitar at an angle. how come yours is straight? or is it the angle the pic is taken?

It looks like the angle of the pics.

                              Congrats on a great guitar
