  • What exactly do I have here?

The only thing I know for certain is that it's a late 80's / early 90's era USA Made model. No idea what the paint job is called. I've never seen another like it but I think it's a factory paint job. I think the model is called a Fusion? Tongue oil finished bolt on maple neck, ivory bound ebony fret board with abolone inlays.

I've had it since I got it "nearly new" around 1991 or so. Thinking about selling so I'm trying to get an idea what it's worth. It's got a DiMarzio "Tone Zone" in the bridge and a DiMarzio something or other in the neck. The middle is an empty pickup cover. Didn't feel like spending the cash on a pickup to put there since I don't use them. It's wired with a coil split switch. With the switch on and the toggle in the middle it's got a crazy sweet clean sound.

Got the original case for it too. Serial number is 000276. Great shape since I mainly used it for recording.

It's a screaming guitar and has served me well but I'm more partial to stratocasters these days. Guess I'm getting old.

Any info you guys could give me/confirm on it would be greatly appreciated. Nice forum you all have here.

There may be only 4 or 5 of them ever made?

I don't remember ever seeing that paintjob, so I'm thinking either custom shop without the custom marker, or a limited run?

Wow. I figured it was rare since I have never seen another one in all the years I've owned it but only 4 or 5 ever made? Is there any way to confirm that?

That graphic is called 'Jigsaw' and it was a production graphic for a few years in the early 90's. Here's a Soloist with it : Click Me From the config and scalloped horn, you're correct to think that the guitar is a Fusion.

Valuing is difficult but I'd say 1200 tops, depending on how much someone wants that graphic....

Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable

where'd you get those figures from? That was a production finish. I've seen Soloists, Fusions & Warriors all in that graphic

Looking at yours, Dammit, I'd concur with neilli. US Fusion from around '90/91

                Man you guys are slipping.
                It's a 1990 Fusion.
                Production graphic.

                $1,800.00 :ROTF:
                More like $800.00

Nope. The DK1 didn't come around until the later '90s, and it was only 22 frets.

The scalloped horn is also found on some Dinkies, though.

True, but not generally with that electronic config and graphic....

90 fusion. That rocks by the way.I saw a Kelly with that graphic not long ago.
$600-$700 if you have OHSC, hang tags and original pickups.$400- $600 otherwise.
I like that one a lot!
                              Really? well screw Mark Twain.
