  • What color should I paint this?

Hey.... What color should I paint this Soloist? It's a Birdseye maple fretboard, reverse headstock with mother-of-pearl inlay. It's a neck through so the neck will also be painted!

Just because it's a neck thru doesn't mean it needs to be painted. There are many custom shop axes out there with raw necks. Personally, I prefer a finished neck.

I have the same question as well, what paint job? And by who?

Did you make that or is it a Jackson?

Ideally, that Jackson should be done in a Tie Dye or Red Ghost Flames, but if you want to keep it simple, Snow White Pearl would be cool. Whatever you do, please don't paint that neck.

The ESP - hmm, how about lime green or bright yellow?

I used to be a huge advocate of raw finish necks, however, since I got my RR1 I've grown just as fond for them. And agreed, white would look good too.

                        Yes they were.

I've been thinking firecrackle. Past consensus on the board was to do a Master of Puppets on it.

It's an ESP I bought at Winter NAMM in 1989. It was a custom shop but they put the crosses in wrong (at least that's my guess). It was at NAMM as a demo, and I begged and cried until they sold it to me.

Why does the back hump on the body look like a separate piece glued on?
