I'm usually not a big fan of gold hardware but this one is a beauty. Pickups would be better in black, IMHO. It's like calling me to play on it !

is this really a custom shop though, it has a "u" serial # not a "j", and it has a truss rod cover that says custom shop, not the custom shop on the headstock?

Yep, that's one of the 10 piece runs I did. They were supposed to say "Custom Shop" on the headstock but Akai decided not to and the trussrod covers were a compromise.Comment
