  • problem with a used sl1 1998

    hi guys i just got a nice sl1 1998 serial # U0 55 47

so i have some problem, hope some pros can help~

    1. some frets (12, 13) were quite worn, but refretting seems expensive. quite noisy on a few notes if action is low.
    2. currently with 10-46 gauge. i wanna adjust the truss but the screw seems to be messed up, like the allen wrench won't get a grip in the slot.

anything i could do without damaging the guitar?

    3. about pickups:
the neck is a carvin single coil. i wanna get a sustaniac, like the one in dk2s. but is there a way i can set up the mini-switches without drilling holes on the body? like put them in the wiring area....

otherwise, any recommendations on for the 2 single coils? i wanna keep the tb4 for now.

Are you using a metric allen wrench? I know, dumb question, but had to ask.

Individual fret replacement is an option, get the neck correct, first, though.

And, I'm no pro, just very careful...

Sure, why not. Not the most handy place though .
