I hate stores that do that too. I'd go elsewhere also.

Where is this store? I haven't seen a US Jackson in a music shop sine the 90's! It's all Indian built JS's these days. Fender really need to pull their thumb in terms of marketing these guitars correctly in UK.

damn, and I thought it sucked to live in Holland 'cause of the Jackson USA prices and rareness... It sounds cheaper to buy in in the USA for an Englishman

It is cheaper to buy in the USA than here. Even after being stung by all the shipping and import tax. It really fucks me off.

I bought a WR1 for $1000 (new) and a KV2 for $1200 (mint used). Add another $250 for shipping and import tax and that works out at about £1200.

Two USA guitars for three quarters of the retail price of one. Then again, we're all rich eccentrics that live in mansions.

For that money you should talk to a dealer in the states and get something of your choice for less money. People in Europe really have it bad when it comes to guitars. I always try and import when I can so I'll get better choice and for less money. I got my used Soloist for just under €800 with a hardcase from the US, I don't even think I could find one here for sale any time soon. It wasn't even a real steal, they sell for that all day on eBay and craiglist.

Mattsmusiccenter ships to UK if anyone is interested. Shipping will cost about 250$ and youll have to pay some tax to customs... but still it works out cheaper.

But seriously, a brandnew WR1 for 1000 dollars? Where/how did you got that so cheap?

I bought it for $1000 off ebay in 2004. It was from a shop in San Antonio, Texas. A 2001 that had sat in its case fr a couple of years.) Back then the dollar was much stronger against the pound (about 1.40, now its 2.05 or something).

I'd HAPPILY pay $1000/£500 for a WR1! ... then taunt my local retailer with photos of it!

Good for you mate. The Warrior seems to be a maligned beast. My mates all hate mine.

Where abouts are you in the UK, by the way?

I'm in Nottingham. I found the DK1 (SNK) in Leicester. It's easy to suggest going elsewhere, until you realise every guitar shop that actually deals with Jackson stuff is and only is Sound Control. Reminiscent of Taco Bell from Demolition Man...

Sound Control in Birmingham had shag all USA Jacksons last time I was in there.
