I see loads of the Japanese versions with the 81 + 85 combo, is there a USA version of the SLSMG? Gotta say I think the Japanese ones look amazing, especially the gloss black finish. That headstock really suits the Soloist body (think it'd suit the Kelly too).

There is only one usa build super lightweight soloist and it is sls. slsmg is mij. But sls is a little bit diffrent. It is 24.75"(22 frets) and it has a strat like brigde not a TOM. It is also string thru. and it has lot (A LOT) more craftmanship on it. -
The SLS is the best guitar I've ever played, in raspberry burst no less. But I'd take my fwr flametop slsmg over it any day as I prefer the scale/inlays/bridge/shape. Both versions play like butter, and I would love to have a usa and more jap ones!Comment

Your guitars are all stunning, I especially like the red SLSMG on the left of the group shot. I'd like a USA version of that exact guitar...I'd like that exact guitar actually. I think it's a combination of the ebony board, the shiny jumbo frets and the tiny snow drift inlays...and of course that headstock. In fact, I'd have the Japanese version if they did the Jackson logo in MOP. I know it's a small, trivial detail, but what can you do...
