    thanks alot AK47

but I wanted some changes on the guitar... and the guitar indeed is beautiful but... I don't want it. I wanted a Custom order... diferrent woods.. bridge, frets and the pinstripes are under the knobs...

I will have to order something else.

I am a Jackson guy... I wouldn't live a lie with my Concorde "Ran" , "Jackal" or "Shamray"...

So I'll have to order a normal Custom RR and be happy with it.

      !! I got an idea

what if Grover Jackson made one for me? Is this posible? That would be even better than a custom shop tha man himself making the guitar he made for Rhoads.

Sandoval still makes Polka Dot Vs... why not Grover Jackson?

Someone will certainly correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Tim Wilson and Mike Shannon actually crafted the first guitars for Randy, not Grover himself.

If Randy wanted a guitar built for him today the CS would give him a big "NO"

            Seriously...

The fundamental notion behind patents is that the inventor should be given the opportunity to benefit economically from his invention by excluse rights for a number of years after which it becomes available for the public and society to exploit freely. So patents are a tool for ensuring that inventions benefit both the individual and the society in general. This is why a patent includes a description (a disclosure) of the invention so anybody, in principle, will be able to use it after the patent has expired. This is also why some companies never file a patent but instead try to keep its designs secret, like Coca Cola. The duration of a patent is typically 20 years from the date the patent was filed. There are somewhat different laws for different countries, though.

I wonder, though, whether we are talking pantents in this case, since a patent is 'a solution to a technical problem' (but stranger things have been patented). Maybe we are talking trademarks, copyrights, or designs here. Copyrights last for the lifetime of the creater + 70 years. Trademarks have infinite duration while designs have a duration of 25 years (in Europe, I don't know whether such a thing exists in the US).

              Mads

I've got a Ran myself, just go for it, really reliable and far from the pricey Jackson CS. And completely open minded. ^^

Another sale the CS lost. I can personally count 20 orders the CS lost because of stupid rules like no large logo Jackson stratheads on a white headstock, that was what a member was told here when they allowed Jackson strat head orders for a short period.

Anyhoo, for some reason (whether to escape Gibson's persecution or just to be different) the first block had to be rotated 90 degrees (it's actually a rectangle, so it's noticeably different).

It's retarded, but there ya go.

IMO the limitation on the Concorde is two-fold: one, no one has to pay Delores any royalties, and two, everybody and their mother doesn't have a Concorde.

I mean, imagine Alexi bursting onto the scene playing a Concorde Jackson, and the wee kids not knowing who Rhoads was (after all, many believe Metallica's first album was Black). Suddenly Alexi gets all the credit for it, with no mention of Randy, or at least it's not "common knowledge" like it should be. "Those in the know" would know it (like us) but the average music fan who was wanting an "Alexi Laiho Jackson" would not know it was Randy's design, and the very first Jackson design.

There are certain historical landmarks that should not be duplicated. Personally I thought the LTD was a travesty in itself, and McD's reasoning above perpetuates the travesty IMO. The original should have been left an only child.

I mean, how impressive is the Eiffel Tower if your redneck neighbor has one? How majestic is the Taj Mahal if WalMart builds their stores to look like it?

                      Not very.

Limited Editions typically breed greed and envy, and these are things that - as I understand it - were not traits Randy displayed.

Moving ahead with Randy's "missing NAMM" design (RR Custom/Rhoads USA/RR1, etc) would be fine, but the PCS and LTD runs should never have been done, in my opinion.

Totally agree, and VERY well stated!

I guess CS does not miss this order much. Considering recent lead time and a very long processing of requests/quotes I can see that CS already has too many orders to do. It's a natural business thing: too many orders -> price hike, reducing options etc
                        Because I don't say it
                        Doesn't mean I ain't thinking it

Not from what I hear they are only recently getting busy with NAMM orders the employees were going over to the Fender side looking for work.

I predict a pricing slash at winter NAMM and the CS has a batch of rediculously priced guitars sitting waiting for US dealers to order but no ones biting like the Korina Jackson thats 10,000dollars retail.

Most of their business is from Europe right now with the US dollar going to crap making USA Jacksons even at high prices reasonable over there. I heard the economy is booming in Moscow and they just opened a Bentley or Ferrari dealership and were ordering tons of exotic cars...just what I hear.

I have thought a CS Jackson, but nowadays I think Amfisound from Finland is better option to me. I love Jacksons but the price of CS isn't nice... But who knows, if I find money somewhere.

BTW: I think it's not OK to patent a guitar shape, it's just stupid.

hm. i had a conversation a few years back about having a vintage rhoads done, but mahogany, sharkeye inlays, and the jcf 01 logo (or a true prototype logo, not the gold script one) the stipulations were given to me that there had to be 3 differences from the original LTD run, and the mockup that i provided was fine. sad how things change.

Good news! However As we speak fender lawyers are crawling out of their pools of slime to draft a cease and desist order for any and all customshops you guys just listed.....

Bet on it. They got my guitar thread pulled on this forum- been waiting but still hadnt recieved any "official" letters from them...

Fender musta teamed up with microsoft lawyers to eradicate any and all competition.... FMIC is pure evil.
