  • ID an RR please ...

    Guys,

I just acquired an RR. I got it without the trem. The s/n is RR2652. Model/description on the Warranty card is "R.R. Custom- Canary Yellow". Headstock says "Made in USA". It's vitually spotless. No chips or dings anywhere. I was wondering if the gurus could school me a bit on it.

    Thanks.

What's the small cavity in the back? Probably came with EMGs. Is the trem recessed, or is that just for pull up? I like it berry much.

RR serial # would denote a custom ordered Rhoads. Looks like a great score, once you get her back together.

That battery cavity DOES NOT mean it had original factory EMG's, rather it had a Jackson active electronic circuit. Factory EMG equipped Jacksons of that time period simply had the battery inside the control cavity, as tight as that was on the Rhoads. But some of their own circuits used 2 batteries and they often put it like what you see there.
