Pricing for used PC1s

Hey Jackson Folk;

I am thinking about getting a PC1 (natural) and would appreciate some guidance on the used market. From looking at ebay - it seems new ones can
be had for as low as $1600, but the used prices vary greatly.

So if anyone could provide some guidance, it would be greatly appreciated (or if they have a used one to sell :^) )

Depends... is it a newer strat head or the original version.
Strat head PC1 tends to be in the $1,400 to $1,700 used.
Original PC1 pulls in around $1,200 to $1,400 used.

Hmm

What is the logic that would have the 'fender' head more pricy than the
pre-fender? I assume there is some perception of quality or is it something else?

most people HATE the old headstock and LOVE the strathead. i, personally, LOVE the old headstock and HATE the strathead!! hahahahaha, i have 2 PC-1's, a solar and a euphoria....when i can save some more cash i will be looking for an older chlorine. i have this CRAZY plan to get one in each color!! HAHAHAHAHA

Its got nothing to do with quality as I'm sure both are top notch quality. It has to do with the percieved ugliness of the headstock shape. Before the Strathead shape became available on the PC-1 I avoided buying one. I thought the old "Sears" headstock shape was so ugly I could not buy a PC-1 even though I came across a couple great deals on them, I passed on them. Of course the Jackson pointy headstock trumps them both in my book

The Chlorine colored ones are dead sexy. Add to that the ridiculously awesome flame job on the maple neck and fingerboard...Pure sex.
