Meet J4045, a Ferrari Red JSC1 (this was the model name back then, I still have the price list, SC stands for Soloist Custom), ordered and build started in 1987, delivered early 1988 - it's 20 years old this month! I would have had an earlier model, but prior to 87, all I could have was a Kahler bridge, which put me off going for one prior to that. I opted for non active pickups, and a regular 5 way selector instead of the mini toggles that were popular back then, the little switch takes out one of the bridge coils.
At the time, reverse headstocks were unheard of, at least in UK, although there are plenty around now. We (the shop dude and I) thought we'd invented it. I can still clearly remember the waiting time (close to 6 months), and being told one Friday lunchtime it had arrived and I could go get it on the Saturday!
The guitar is in as near pristine condition as I could keep it, given it's been 20 years and gigged a fair amount, no buckle rash at all.
Gimme a few more days and I'll have pics of an RR too.
