There is no way on Gods Green Earth I would sit on a new guitar for a week before it could get "set up". No fuckin' way...
Do yourself a favor and buy this book...
It will teach you everything you need to know to do that shit yourself. Never trust someone else to know what you like. Do it yourself and it's perfect everytime...

Getting new guitars always gives me wood, but it's like fucking a woman I have pursued for ages (down back alleys, over fields, through the woods etc), as soon as I have emptied my bag I lose interest and am looking for the next conquest. The more you get, the shorter the high.

Nope it hasn't worn off. Cuz I haven't played her yet. Setup first. Yes I know what you mean. I kept swapping between two girls and they hate each others' guts. So if I'm ever going back (I left both of them to afford this WR1), I've gotta choose wisely. Having said that - I see another graphic USA Jackson, they're both dumped again. Not when the trem is below the body's surface. Unplayable at the mo. I have no experience in setups, hence I'm getting the shop to do it. In the meantime, I'm looking for one of those books that teaches me how to do it. I'll use my DK2S as a guinea pig before letting myself loose on my WR1.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Did 2 setups today for a local shop here. Took me 30 minutes for both. Those guys at the shop are laughing their ass off because of people like you. How much do they charge? Around here it starts at $25 and goes up from there. Don't pay that cash. Just thowing money away. Besides no one else knows exactly how you like your guitar set up. Hell, I bet YOU don't even know how you like the guitar set up. Do yourself a favor and buy that book. They have some used ones for 11 bucks. Isn't that like 6 bucks for you guys? I'm buying the book, don't worry. £12 ain't bad. The setup will be no more than £25 including a set of strings (far less than most shop prices £40-£60). It's a one off. I promise I'll do my all my own setups from then on.

Don't buy a book. Buy the Dr Robert Guitar Setup video (can't recall it's exact name, but I got mine from Guitarist magazine years ago.)
Yes, he's a simpering poofter with a dodgy haircut, but he knows about guitars. He even sets up a Strat, a Les Paul, and a Jem to show you some different types of guitars. Nice and easy.
