Yes, the made in Japan model the cavity covers are plastic. The usa model are metal.

Wrong, those are made of metal on both models. I´ve had several Japanese Pro´s, and they all had metal cavity covers. Only difference between MIJ (Pro-model) and USA Fusions is that USA has oiled neck.. and it sounded better than the MIJ ones, believe it or not.
