Congrats on the new custom by the way... enjoy the wait...
Sweeet guitars man.. holy shit those are nice. I've got enough other guitars to play in the time between now and when this custom is finished I won't have any trouble waiting.
I put SLS headstock on there.. as far as I know, the San Dimas neck should be a neck profile more like my Charvel
Interesting. Previously, there wasn't a separate field for headstock shape before. They must've changed this? The "neck description" field meant headstock type (yes, this confused many people) and the "San Dimas Style" option meant the old PC1 headstock.
Trans black won't show that type of flamed top unless they do it with dye, which someone said on here a while back (in the Vintage Chlorine Run thread) Jackson doesn't do anymore.
You'd want either a quilted top or a different color.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood
The most human thing we can do is comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

I settled on a natural finish with black binding and no inlays. I really, really, really don't like quilt tops.

Huh? Almost every Jackson USA Select has trans black over flamed maple available as a finish. And there's no problem seeing the flame-top.
Agreed that anilyne dye would look much better than the standard trans black finish, though. And, yes, Jackson will still do hand-rubbed anilyne dye on custom shop orders, but you have to specify it.
Congratulations, I know what it's like to get a Custom, good for you. Not to burst your bubble, but do people still play 7 strings these days? I thought that was so 90's...
What makes you say that?
I have my KV-2 tuned to B, and I have a COW-7 when I play solo's. They have their uses!
Lol ya 2 bassests would work. But usually I wont touch the low string. Its only useful when your doing a background for a solo and your bassest is lazy (like that never happens...)
Gear:
Gibson SG (Stock)
Ibanez RG7321 loaded with Seymour Duncan Invaders
Charvel frankenstien guitar (not entirely sure what it is has a Charvel Logo)
Line 6 Pod Xt Live
Atomic Reactor 212 50 Watt
Groove Tubes
Dr Strings

I don't know if that is dye or paint, but anyway :
