And as always... put it on eBay, $1 opening bid and no reserve. The highest bidder will definitely bite.
    Don't forget the $1 BIN!

BTW Floyd makes it a KV2.

I kind of agree with this, the only real difference between the KV2 and the KV1 is that the KV1 has a fixed bridge.

So basically this guitar is worth allot of money from a collectors perspective I guess (because of the signature on the headstock).

      correct?

This guy thinks he has a KV1/KV2. I told him it was the Japanese King V Pro, and he told me I was "totally wrong" and should "put on my glasses and look at it". Somebody please message him.

            The reply I got..

I am "usakingkelly" on ebay btw..

Good Morning King, I am sending you the answer FlickStop sent to another individual. NOT to be rude...
            1. Dave Mustaine Sig series was not made in Japan - exclusively USA Pro-Line. 2. Japanese models usually do not have shark teeth inlay, they have dot markers. 3. Japanese models are all bolt on neck. 4. All Japanese models are known as "student models"not "Pro-line".5. I paid over $2000. for this guitar & if it was Japanese it would have been $200. 6. The seriel # on Japanese models are a decal on the back of headstock, not imprinted on the bottom of the fret board. ANY MORE QUESTIONS? P.S. Only if you are interested in buying. thanks. You can also send inquiries to fastmail.fm for flickstopvideo. Jen assisting Johnny

I really hate it when people start acting like retards. It makes me want to introduce my fist into their face.
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

Hopefully the market will show him that he has a Japanese made Pro, not a US series KV1. He'll be mighty surprised when he gets no bids at $1200.

I Kinda think that because it has 1 humbucker is what makes it a KV1 and 2 hums makes a KV2.....
I beleive thats the definitions to Jacksons model numbers...

                  Hence, SL1 = 1 Hum
                  SL2 = 2 hums

But then the WR1 and RR1 is a throw off...

He's wrong on every single one of his points!!

                    1. The Pro line was MIJ.
                    2. Lots of Jap models have sharkies
                    3. Lots of Jap models are neck-thru
                    4. Only a few Jap models were Student models; most were Pro.
                    5. He paid way too much!
                    6. Serial #s are stamped on the fretboard for neck-thru, and stamped on the neckplate for bolt-on. I don't know of any company that has serial #s on stickers.

There are a few. I have a 1994 KE3 MIJ, no neck plate. The serial is on a sticker on the back of the headstock, but this is an exception.

edit: Before anyone points out that I'm full of shit, it's 1996. Sorry

Yes, indeed, there are some exceptions. There were some neck-thru Model series Charvels that had stickers with serial numbers on the headstocks. My old bolt-on Kelly XLR didn't have a neck plate either, but I believe the number was stamped on the board.

The 86 Model 6 (maybe 5 too) were neck-thru with stickers. My 93 Kelly Pro STD also has no neck plate and has a sticker on the back of the headstock. This guy is either a con man or got taken and trying to lie his way to cover his losses.

No man, the KV1 has 2 hums. KV1 had a fixed Kahler, but I believe there were a few special runs made with Floyds. KV2s all have Floyds.

Also, do USA models have a 'J' in front of the serial numbers? That should tell him that its Japanese and not made in USA. I remember my SLSMG used to have a J in the front but my SL2HT's had a U in the front.
