Jackson necks with the Jackson logo burned into the heel were replacement necks.

Here is a pic of a Jackson pointy replacement neck.

oh, i didnt know that. no this neck doesnt have anything like that. i have seen guitars posted on this site as being "a true san dimas." can anyone tell me withe the dates and numbers i have given if this is a true san dimas? i noticed that the serial #'s for 1986 jacksons go from 1001-1504. does that mean that there is 504 1986 jacksons, from san dimas made?

I've always said I'd never spend more than $500 on a bolt-on, but damn, I'd make an exception for that!

The last "official" San Dimas era bolt on was serial #1505.
Any bolt on with serial #1506 and up is considered an Ontario era Jackson.
Crafted with the demands of the discernible player in mind, Jackson guitars give you the shapes, finishes and tones you love. From the venerable Rhoads, Soloist, Warrior and more, shop Jackson for the highest performance.

Edit: And then of course now there are the Corona Jacksons, but that's a whole other thread.

i also have another question. on the heel of the neck, underneath the w.o. number(6677) there are three sets of initials. OD, F.R., JF. they are written vertically, one right under the other. would these be the initials of people that built the guitar?

The letters could mean a few things like builder initials and/or options... F.R. probably meant Floyd Rose.

and the OD usually stands for Oil/Decal in reference to the headstock.

here is a picture of the back of the guitar. the only thing that i know that is not original is the rectangular center cover. when i first bought the guitar , i had a guy i know "set it up" for me. he worked on alot of guys (that i have been in bands with) guitars for them. (im actually a drummer now converted to guitar.) anyhow, he had the guitar for about a month. i finally went to his house to pick it up one day and his dog had chewed up the cover when he left it laying in the floor. he had made me a new cover from a different guitar plate, but it looks different than the original. btw, does anyone know where i could buy an original cover at? what type or style of guitar body is this? strat? thanks.
