  • Does this headstock logo look legit to you?

I'm contemplating getting it, but I'm not too sure. Everything else I've seen checks out, though. I'm just curious why the MADE IN U.S.A. part isn't following the curve of the headstock like most I've seen. It does seem like a pretty old guitar, though - has a Jackson floyd instead of an OFR. Anyone own any older USA Jacksons and mind helping me see if their logoes look like that too?

I'll bet it is an 87-89 SD plated guitar.Check the neck plate and see if it has the San Dimas address.
Looks legit to me The SD plated Jacksons are the tits.
What body is it a dinky or full size strat?Go get before I do I love these guitars.
BTW what is the price?Solid colors are less money than graphics.
If it has a Kahler its most likely an 86-87.
Need more pics to verify just what it is..Sorry I see it has a JT-6 trem so it should be an 88-89.

It's a dinky, yeah. The guy added a pickguard on and converted it to single-hum and I like the way superstrats look with p/gs. But yeah, thanks for the help. Definitely snapping it up now - I plan to replace the trem with a floyd, and maybe swap out the EMG81.

I just wanted to point out that I am always hesitant to buy guitars from people who string their guitars like that. Kind of like my thing about not buying from people on ebay who type in all caps, it just gives me a bad feeling. I guess I'm just funny about things like that.

Sorry, I know that wasn't helpful.

Well if its a dinky its not a super strat. The pickguard ruins it for me but if thats your thing go for it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. It looks in pretty good shape though (aside from the worn back of the neck, but I like the feel that gives and relic mojo), and if I tidied it up and gave it a polish it'd look killer.

I will if I don't get the white SL2H PowerTube's talking about in the other thread.

I'll take old Jacksons over new ones anyday.

I guess. This one is a lot cheaper, too - I'm just slightly leery about the Jackson badged FRs. How does the JT-590/Schaller stack up to an OFR, in your experience?

The Schaller JT-590 is as good as the Floyd. And that headstock logo is legit. Most likely NOT an 87-89 as the mop logo began in 1990...

                        Well, I just bought it.

I figure it's pretty cheap for a USA Jackson and I can probably flog the EMG to recoup some cash. Anyone have any info on what year it might be from looks alone?

Come to think of it you're probably right, it's a fusion instead of a dinky. It has the bevelled cutaway in the lower horn too. Oh well, I just hope the 24.75 scale isn't too cramped up.
