Just remember to bring your makita to the gig, in case you need to change strings!

        update

My dad will have this tomorrow,,,I'll post some pictures, and write a little blurb about it..

        He's pretty stoked..

His exact words were "I want my Jackson".. :ROTF:

I never though that I'd hear him say that... I was so happy...

            Think of it this way:

Grover 18:1 tuners turn the tuner post one time for every 18 turns of the tuner button.

If LSRs are 40:1, that means you have to turn the tuner button 40 times to rotate the post a full rotation. If LSRs are designed for fine tuning, this makes perfect sense, because it means the movement of the post is slower, and therefore more accurate.

The larger the ratio, the slower, but more accurate your tuning will be. That is why I prefer 18:1 Grovers myself over other tuners, which are usually 15:1, or 16:1. Those are fine if you have a fine tuning bridge, but if you've got a TOM set up, the Grovers are more accurate. I suppose the LSRs would be even better, except they look stupid, and from what I hear they're a pain in the ass.

not a pain in the ass to me. My KV1 takes less than 5 mins to change out strings. I think LSR's are the schiznit!

It arrived and all is good

              What a guitar..

Now I'll be over at my dad's house asking to borrow flower and such in hopes that I'll be able to play his new axe..

UPS tried to destroy it.,,they were unsuccessful. But check out the crazy damage to the case...

                      that's great condition IMO
                      Definitely a steal. IMO,too.

                      So, what's the wood about?
Did it get a lot of soul played in?

My father has been hording it in his basement. I think he's using it for secret blues attacks.

hey, as I see there's still the baseplate under the Kahler.
                          Swap it away!
The big baseplate in direct contact with the wood will awake some "sleeping ghosts".

Agreed, I was thinking $700 was about right.

That's odd. I've NEVER seen a KV-1 with a shim under the Kahler. Lot's of BC Riches, but never a KV-1. I assume that's not factory.
